Inside the Capitol, tempers rise amid coronavirus anxieties

There’s a reason a verbal melee erupted inside the Senate chamber Monday afternoon.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., angrily excoriated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., wrote to all House members on Wednesday, declaring “I remain committed to giving House members 24 hours notice before the House acts.”

That’s the same reason the Senate cut town two weeks ago as the House struggled to finalize the coronavirus phase two bill.
